Vince McMahon has, at some stage down the years, come in for criticism from just about every member of the WWE Universe.
Wrestling legend Mick Foley became the latest to lash out at the WWE CEO this week - slamming McMahon over his role in Roman Reigns' character development.
In an extensive Facebook post in which he critiqued the recent Royal Rumble that saw Reigns come out on top Foley spoke directly to McMahon, urging him to stop taking on such a hands on role with one of the WWE's rising superstars.
"One more thing," Foley wrote in the concluding paragraph of his open letter.
"I've hear rumors that Mr McMahon is personally writing the recent Roman Reigns promos. If that's true, I'd like to personally address Mr McMahon...
"Dear Vince, Please stop - you're killing the poor guy."
Roman Reigns' mic work has long been considered the main thing holding him back from becoming a legitimate top Superstar. Many fans have criticized Reigns for his forced promos.
To learn that McMahon himself could be behind the issue is a worrying development.
Vince McMahon has always been a very hands on boss, having the final say on virtually every major decision the WWE makes - from who should get the push to who should appear on weekly broadcasts.
Now though perhaps it is time for him to take a step back from certain aspects. With Reigns set for a huge build over the next few months leading up to WrestleMania, and with fans far from on his side right now, the WWE cannot afford to risk messing up his character any further.
Foley himself of course is known as one of the best mic guys in the business - maybe Vince should give him a call to take on the job of scripting Roman Reigns promos?
What do you think WWE fans? Just what is holding Roman Reigns back, and should Vince be involved to this degree? Let us know in the comments section below...
