Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata has seemingly confirmed Anderson's exit from the club, reports The Guardian.
Writing in his blog, the Spanish international, who joined the United ranks in last year's January transfer window, has wished Anderson luck ahead of his return back to Brazil.
There's no doubt about it, Anderson has endured a tricky time at Old Trafford in recent years, and now could leave the club behind on a permanent basis.
Mata wrote: "I want to wish good luck to my friend Anderson, who is back to football in his native Brazil. All the best, my friend!
The same report from the Guardian, meanwhile, has revealed that the player's move to Internacional is still in the balance as negotiations are still going on.
He could still stay
There's no doubt about it, the majority of Manchester United fans will be desperate to see Anderson finally leave the club behind after failing to secure a first-team spot for a number of years now.
With the deal still in the balance, Anderson could yet stay at the Theatre of Dreams until the end of the season. There's no doubt about it, though, the player is in need of a new challenge as he goes in search of finding first team football once again.
In fact, last season, under David Moyes, the Brazilian midfielder was sent out on loan to Fiorentina, but failed to make any real impact in Italy before returning to English soil.
And this term, under the Louis van Gaal regime, the midfielder has once again failed to prove his credentials and rarely featured throughout the course of the campaign.
Still only 26, the midfielder could yet get his career back on track, but it will surely be away from Manchester. It remains to be seen, however, as to whether the deal will go through before tonight's deadline...
