Chelsea completed the biggest deal on deadline day, paying £26.8 million for Colombia international Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina.
Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah completed a move in the opposite direction - signing a six-month loan deal with the Serie A outfit - while Andre Schurrle joined Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in a permanent deal worth £24 million.
Chelsea have also allowed Ryan Bertrand to sign a permanent deal with Southampton following an impressive loan spell at St. Mary’s. The 25-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the south-coast club.
United sign Kellett on loan; Fletcher leaves
Meanwhile, Manchester United announced the loan signing of Bolton Wanderers defender Andy Kellett after confirming the departures of Wilfried Zaha and Darren Fletcher to Crystal Palace and West Brom, respectively.
Kellett, who spent time on loan at Plymouth Argyle earlier this season, has completed a shock move to Old Trafford, with Swiss midfielder Saidy Janko moving in the opposite direction until the end of the current campaign.

United midfielder Jesse Lingard has also left Old Trafford, joining Derby County on loan for the rest of the season after signing a new three-and-a-half-year contract with the Red Devils.
Tottenham sign Dele Alli
Elsewhere, Tottenham announced the signing of highly-rated midfielder Dele Alli from MK Dons. The deal is worth around £5 million and the 18-year-old will spend the rest of the season back on loan at the stadium:mk.
Spurs have also confirmed that Aaron Lennon has joined Everton on loan, and that left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been released from his contract at White Hart Lane.
And Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert will be staying at Anfield after rejecting the chance to join Aston Villa.
