Kim Kardashian is not a name that you would usually link to any sport, or indeed any talent in general, but the reality television star has added some tennis whites to her undoubtedly large wardrobe and even donned them for millions to see.
Over the pond in the United States, some sporting event called the 'Super Bowl' manages to attract millions of viewers and is the type of commercial dream, or nightmare, that we haven't yet seen in this country, or indeed many others.
The American Football-fest, which has seemingly more minutes of television adverts than sporting action becomes a feeding-ground for celebrities from A-Z list and, unsurprisingly, Kardashian, one of the most famous names on the planet, got in-on the action.
Seeing as though her rise to becoming a household name around the world came partly from video footage, (hopefully those of you under 18 will not know what I mean), it's rather apt that her latest stint in the limelight has come from in video-format. Her commercial with T-Mobile was one of the most eagerly anticipated segments of the Super Bowl.
If you're wondering what exactly this has to do with tennis, hold fire, I'll tell you now.

The advert with the mobile phone company was an appeal to use your internet data – or something like that – and Kanye West's wife was recruited to hammer home the message, just so that you can keep up-to-date with her life.
It was all very light-hearted with her taking selfies pretending to be on holiday, in skimpy outfits and generally promoting her 'goods' – you know, the usual – but out of nowhere came the glamour model donning a tennis kit on a practise tennis court!
She looked the business in the kit, could she be about to challenge Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams at Wimbledon?! - The short answer is no, not yet, as we didn't see any footage of her attempting a shot, or anything.
I would have thought the sport might have been something that Kim K , as she is affectionately known, would have never heard of. So, there you go, you tennis fans share something in common with the great Kim Kardashian – lucky you.
Some of you may wonder how exactly I can count this as a tennis article – but this lady is one of the most famous people in the world, I felt you needed to know. And, besides, some of you may remember an article of mine in the past that informed you of Justin Bieber's rather shoddy efforts to master the racquet – we've had no word yet as to whether he's improved on a dismal display; the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer can rest assured.
What we are seeing, in seriousness, is that tennis is something that is becoming ever-more-popular with famous names. Big-profile stars are watching matches all around the world, it's popularity grows, tennis faces no issues in the future in the way that other sports do.
Spread the word, Kim Kardashian.
