The wife of Angel di Maria doesn't want to return home after being left traumatised as burglars attempted to break into her Cheshire home on Saturday evening, reports the Express.
The report has suggested that, as the Manchester United star ate dinner with his wife Jorgelina and young child, burglars used scaffolding poles to try and force their way into the house.
Thankfully, though, they failed to break in, but the incident has seemingly left the player's wife in a state of shock.
Di Maria and family are currently staying at the Lowry Hotel, with United security looking after them.
A source told The Sun: "Angel's wife is completely freaked out. It's really affected her — especially with a young daughter.
"Jorgelina's worried these guys know where she lives and they've not been caught yet.
"She may calm down in time but she is very family orientated so she has been really shaken by what has happened.
"She has told Angel that she never wants to go back."
It remains to be seen as to whether Jorgelina calms down over the coming days, but it certainly appears that recent events have taken their toll on her as she struggles to get over the ordeal.
Back to normal
There's no doubt about it, Di Maria will be hoping things get back to normal sooner rather than later, but the player could be handed a rest as the Red Devils prepare for action this evening.
Louis van Gaal's side are set to play host to League Two outfit Cambridge United in an FA Cup fourth round replay and will be desperate to avoid a shock defeat, with the competition acting as the club's only realistic chance of securing silverware in this campaign.
If Di Maria does sit the game out, then he may well return for the club's Premier League showdown with West Ham United on Sunday as the Red Devils go about securing a place in next year's Champions League.
