When a WWE superstar's return is delayed, it is never ideal for them, the company or its fans. When this happens to a big name therefore, WWE appear to struggle even more with dealing with the backlash because of their time out.
The most prominent wrestler this has been the case with of late is Randy Orton. The WWE superstar has been out of action for months, having last made a televised WWE appearance during November.
This was a scheduled break, with Orton due to begin filming on The Condemned 2: Desert Prey, but once filming had ended, he suffered a deviated septum at a live event which meant he was forced to undergo surgery.
This injury did however mean that The Viper was only due to miss out on wrestling for a couple of weeks, and it has now been said that he is back to full healt and ready to come back.
Why then, did he not make the supposed intended return during the dark match he was advertised for which was meant to take place following this week's episode of Monday Night Raw?

It appears that the reason for his delayed return is because of 'creative decisions' with another return date being revealed, as reported by Wrestling Inc:
"Randy Orton has been advertised to return and then pulled from several recent WWE events but readers sent word that a local ad ran in Florida during last night’s RAW that advertised Orton’s return at the February 16th RAW from Orlando. This would be the final RAW before Fast Lane. We’ve heard that it’s creative decisions that keep delaying Orton’s return to TV."
Fans of Orton can therefore hope to see Orton return in the Fast Lane Go Home episode of Raw, but it would not be surprising all the same if we do not see him back in action on this date.
Whenever he does make a full return to WWE, it is likely that we will see him face-off in a feud against Mr Money In The Bank; Seth Rollins.
We last saw Orton be Curb stomped multiple times by his former fellow Authority member, so it is likely that WWE will continue the feud between the pair from where it left off.
Given that Randy Orton is one of the bigger names within the company and one of the more popular WWE superstars, it is odd to see that the company are continuously delaying his return.
Although, as it is the creative team who are doing so, it could well be that WWE have something big in store for him, and that the delay is to increase build up to what will be a hugely awaited return.
