The January transfer window was yet another difficult one for sides in Serie A.

Fiorentina surrendered the services of Juan Cuadrado to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea, whilst Fernando Torres left AC Milan to complete a fairytale return to boyhood club Atletico Madrid.

With the financial muscle of the Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga all growing increasingly evident, the summer could see more of the superstars of Italy’s top flight depart.
