Arsene Wenger may have clinched the January signing of Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista, but it appears he had the chance to land Saint Etienne captain Loic Perrin as well. The French centre-back has admitted that he wanted to join the Gunners after holding serious talks concerning a move there, but the switch never materialised. Ultimately Wenger opted for Paulista, but perhaps there’s scope for a return for Perrin in the summer. In news closer to home Arsenal yesterday confirmed that a professional contract had been signed by young forward Kaylen Hinds, who has represented the club at various youth levels. The 17-year-old has joined Chuba Akpom in pledging his future to the Emirates Stadium, though it will likely be some time before fans can see him involved in the first-team.
