Jack Wilshere has turned to social media to hit back at his critics after becoming embroiled in yet another smoking scandal.
The Arsenal midfielder was pictured with a shisha pipe in a nightclub, to which it is understood manager Arsene Wenger took a dim view of Wilshere latest indiscretion.
This is, of course, not the first time Wilshire has been seen smoking having been caught taking a puff twice before, where he vowed to learn from his mistake.
Not Wilshire's first puff
Speaking in July after one of these incidents, Wilshere said "The smoking? Of course I regret it. I have been seen before doing it. I said then I made a mistake and I have made a mistake again. People make mistakes."
This time the England international took to Instagram to dispel any doubts of his commitment to the club and his career, ahead of the huge North London derby tomorrow against Tottenham.
Character, not reputation
While posting images of his training regime back to fitness from a serious ankle injury, Wilshere decided to add a message which makes it clear he could care less what the perception of his latest misdemeanour is outside his immediate circle.
"Worry about your character not your reputation, because your character is who you are and your reputation is only what people who don't know you think about you!"
Smoking has been somewhat of a problem at Arsenal this season, after goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was caught smoking in the showers after the Gunners' New Years Day loss to Southampton.
Szczesny has been dropped ever since, while Wilshere has been absent since Arsenal's 2-1 loss to Manchester United in November.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has to address this issue and quickly, before the negative headlines threaten to derail their promising run of form in recent weeks.
