This summer will mark an end of an era when Steven Gerrard departs Anfield for the sunny terrain of LA Galaxy in the MLS, however one tradition will be kept in tact.
Liverpool legend Gerrard will be wearing his iconic number 8 for the Galaxy, after wearing the shirt for over 10 years on Merseyside, reports the Mirror.
MLS debut nears closer
The announcement has been made as LA Galaxy urge fans to purchase the shirt with his name on in anticipation for his debut, expected to be against San Jose Earthquake on July 17.
The shirt will set fans back a whopping £134 as Galaxy look to maximise profits on the sensational capture of the legendary Englishman.
Gerrard is likely to feature in his last ever Merseyside derby against Everton, on Saturday evening as the Reds travel to Goodison Park.
The former England captain has scored ten goals in 33 derby appearances and will be desperate to go out on a high against his beloved Liverpool's local rivals.
Derby to forget?
However, Everton boss Roberto Martinez has insisted he intends on making the game a moment to forget for Gerrard and Liverpool.
Liverpool have been in impressive form recently while the Toffees have struggled all season but as we all know, form goes out the window and it's all up for grabs in a derby.
