The agent of Barcelona star Dani Alves will fly to Manchester to speak with officials of Manchester United over a summer switch for his client, reports the Express.
Citing Spanish sources, the report has been suggested that the player's agent Dinorah Santan is keen to meet with the Red Devils in order to discuss a possible contract offer.
Class of Alves
Alves, who is 31-years-old, is still recognised as one of the leading full-backs in world football, but runs out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season, meaning he is now free to talk to other clubs.
And it appears that Manchester United have set their sights on bringing him to England's elite division sooner rather than later, with the same report from the Express claiming that Red Devils chief Louis van Gaal is eager to secure the deal.
Despite approaching his advancing years, Alves has played a key role for the Catalans this term, and would no doubt prove quite the coup for Manchester United if they were able to secure his signature on a free deal.

In truth, the arrival of Alves would only help Manchester United in the defensive department, with the club's back-line seemingly in need of added experience.
Struggles at the back
After the trio of Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra departed the Theatre of Dreams last summer, the Red Devils have struggled defensively under the tenure of Van Gaal this term.
In truth, despite improving of late, the club's back-line has looked vulnerable, often gifting chances to the opposition.
And, United haven't had a consistent operator at right-back throughout the course of the campaign. Ecuadorian Antonio Valencia has enjoyed a fairly steady season in the right wing-back role, but he's not an established defender by any means.
Rafael da Silva, meanwhile, has struggled to maintain his fitness throughout the campaign, so has been unable to hold down a starting role on a regular basis.
It now remains to be seen as to whether the club are able to secure a deal for Alves as they look to add to their options at the back.
