James Dolan has long held a reputation as one of the worst owners in the NBA and sports itself, but the New York Knicks chief has really outdone himself this time.
The 59-year old Dolan received a passionate email from a disillusioned Knicks fan and decided to go way, way over the top in his response.
The Knicks fan, who has been supporting the franchise for over 60 years according to his email, was called an 'alcoholic' by his team's owner and told to go support cross-town rivals the Brooklyn Nets.
The fan, a Mr. Bierman - his first name is not given - has been supporting the New York Knickerbockers since 1952 according to his email, which was sent to Deadspin to highlight just how much of a cretin James Dolan is.
Mr Bierman tells Dolan that he has rightly been an atrocious owner, dragging the once famous franchise down to the gutter ever since he came on board thanks to a string of truly woeful decisions.

"As a knicks fan for in excess of 60 years, I am utterly embarrassed by your dealings with the Knicks. Sell them so their fans can at least look forward to growing them in a positive direction Obviously, money IS NOT THE ONLY THING. You have done a lot of utterly STUPID business things with the franchise. Please NO MORE."
The fan was rightly angry, the Knicks have been awful this season and haven't even had a winning record in the terrible Eastern Conference for years, never mind any real playoff success.
Here's what Dolan thought would be an acceptable reply:
"You are a sad person... I am.just guessing but ill bet your life is a mess and you are a hateful mess.... In fact ill bet you are negative force in everyone who comes in contact with you. You most likely have made your family miserable. Alcoholic maybe... In the mean while start rooting.for the Nets because the Knicks dont want you."
Well played Mr Dolan, what a great way to treat fans who have stuck by your team despite how god damn terrible they are. Well done you, you despicable human being.
The Knicks currently boast a record of 10-41 this season, good enough for dead last in the woeful Eastern Conference. They are worse than the Philadelphia 76ers for goodness sake. I think Mr Bierman might have a point.
