Arsenal target James Milner has been urged by his Manchester City teammate to snub interest from the Gunners this summer and commit his future to the Etihad Stadium club by signing a new contract.
According to the Daily Star, Arsene Wenger is an admirer of the England international and is ready to offer him a deal to move to Emirates Stadium once his Manchester City contract expires at the end of this season.
Milner proved his importance to Manuel Pellegrini's side at the weekend with a sensational injury time free-kick to rescue a point against Hull City after an extremely poor performance from the reigning Premier League champions.
Pablo Zabaleta went public to call for Milner to resist the lure of Arsenal and rivals Liverpool and put pen to paper on a new deal at City.
"We know how important James is for this team, for this club. His commitment and his passion have always been fantastic for this club and this team," the Argentine is quoted as saying.

Brendan Rodgers is ready to rock the Premier League by making a surprise £25million bid for Arsenal favourite Jack Wilshere this summer, according to the Daily Star.
The report claims the Liverpool boss is scouring Europe to find a viable replacement for outgoing club legend Steven Gerrard and believes the Emirates Stadium midfielder, currently sidelined with an ankle injury, is the man for the job.
Wilshere has been in the press recently over another smoking storm - he was photographed holding a shisha pipe on a night out - and the report claims Arsene Wenger has lost patience with his charge, so much so that he is ready to sell him.
Arsene Wenger has been told he has a chance to land one of his long-term transfer targets this summer, but that it will cost him at least £40million to do so.
According to the Daily Star, Paris Saint-Germain have told Arsenal they are willing to sell midfielder Marco Verratti, but the the Gunners will have to get close to their record signing if they want him.
However, Manchester United have shown a willingness to spend big in the past year and the report claims that they are one of the other clubs also interested in snapping up the talented Italy international.
