French midfielder Blaise Matuidi’s agent, Mino Raiola, has revealed that he rejected both Manchester United and Manchester City back in 2011, according to the Daily Express.
The publication carries quotes from Raiola today inferring that Matuidi could be playing his football in Manchester at the moment, despite the fact he’s a regular fixture in the Paris Saint-Germain first-team. The 27-year-old reportedly had the opportunity to join either United or City for just £7 million, but preferred instead to move to the Parc des Princes.
Over the course of the January transfer window he was once more linked with a switch to England, though his agent has moved to dispel talk that he’ll be leaving PSG.
"If Blaise Matuidi didn't have his heart at Paris, he would be in England today," Raiola said.
"He would have earned a lot more money at Manchester United or City."

Matuidi at PSG
Having ultimately moved to PSG from Saint-Etienne, Matuidi has become a dominant midfielder in Laurent Blanc’s set up, since the latter took over the reigns from Carlo Ancelotti in 2013.
Despite the Ligue 1 champions having a virtually inexhaustible bank account the Frenchman has retained a place in the starting lineup more often than not, and his displays have attracted the attentions of clubs such as Chelsea.
Indeed in recent times it’s looked as though PSG could use the interest in his signature to their advantage, with the Parisian giants somewhat stifled in the transfer market due to the introduction of the Financial Fair Player rulings.
PSG's big transfer plans
Rumour has it the the policies in place cost them the chance to land Angel Di Maria last summer before his move to United, and it could well end up proving an obstacle at the end of this season.
At the moment it looks as though PSG’s top target for the summer will be Juventus star Paul Pogba, with the France international currently rated as one of the top players in Europe. Yet to fund a transfer for the 21-year-old Blanc is sure to have to sell some of his top names.
Matuidi plays in his position, so it makes sense to assume he may be in the shop window, whilst others like Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marco Verratti have also been mentioned in connection with moves away.
