WWE: Could Solomon Crowe debut at NXT Takeover: Rival?

Published 1 Comments

All of the build-up for the first Takeover of 2015 is now in the books the attention turns to Wednesday February 11 where Sami Zayn defends his NXT Championship in the main event of NXT Takeover: Rival, taking on Kevin Owens.

It’s been an incredible two months for Kevin Owens, he arrived at Takeover: R Evolution where he put on an impressive display against CJ Parker before stealing Sami Zayn’s spotlight as he became new champion, and now he has a title shot of his own.

But other than the incredible build-up between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens as well as the impressive matches announced for the card, a lot of attention has been on the ‘technical difficulties’ which have aired on the last few episodes of NXT.

Fans who paid close attention will have realised by now that the video packages have been hyping up the arrival of Solomon Crowe, and his debut could take place as early as this Wednesday.

The fans that have followed Crowe’s career since his days as Sami Callihan will be very excited for his debut, as he brings a lot to the table and will offer a lot to NXT and eventually the main roster, where a potential reunion with Dean Ambrose is something to be excited by.

If Solomon Crowe does make his debut this Wednesday at Takeover, here are the three superstars I believe he should target first.

It’s no secret that Itami needs to remain on NXT for a while, even though he has had a fantastic start to his NXT career especially with the hype surrounding his signing there are still areas in his game which need tweaking to suit the WWE style.

Itami hasn’t really been involved in a big-name feud since he arrived, his feud with The Ascension was great and it culminated with victory over The Ascension, but it was Finn Balor who stole the show with his infamous body paint that left the fans talking.

Itami always puts on great performances and he seems like a likeable superstar the WWE Universe can and will get behind, what he needs is a bigger heel standing opposite him, bigger than Tyler Breeze. I believe Solomon Crowe is the main to get the best out of Hideo Itami.

Solomon Crowe can talk, he will easily be one of the best talkers on NXT, he has the charisma, and he has the in-ring ability to put on great matches and against a top notch performer like Itami, which can only spell success. It will be great for Itami’s push as a face and it will establish Crowe a top heel on NXT.

If the rumours are true then Adrian Neville should be included in the NXT Championship picture once more and hop in the feud between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens; who holds the title by then remains to be seen.

If the writers decide to go against this, then I would personally like to see Solomon Crowe cost Adrian Neville the win at Takeover against Finn Balor, allowing Balor to become the number one contender to the NXT Championship whilst Adrian Neville enters a programme with Solomon Crowe.

This will benefit Crowe a lot more, even though he is talented, Adrian Neville has been on NXT longer and will be able to ease Crowe into the main event picture a lot better than Itami will be able to. Crowe can also bring out a new side to Adrian Neville and it will be a great feud to keep Neville on NXT for a little while longer.

The same could be said for Finn Balor, it would be a big statement of intent from Solomon Crowe who could come on to NXT and cost Finn Balor the opportunity of a lifetime especially against a top competitor like Adrian Neville.

Finn Balor isn’t expected to stay on NXT for too long so it remains to be seen whether he will even hold the NXT Championship, but a feud with Solomon Crowe will benefit both superstars. The fans are behind Finn Balor and they show their support every week. Apart from Sami Zayn; what bigger face is there to target and make a name for yourself?

This will also establish Crowe as a top heel, they both bring their own unique abilities to the table and their styles should work well inside of the ring.

Finn Balor’s famous body paint is a spectacle in itself, combine that with Crowe’s crazy attitude and the NXT fans are in for a treat.
