After five productive seasons in the NFL, wide receiver DeMaryius Thomas is set to sign a new deal somewhere in the league this offseason.
Whether that contract comes via a franchise tag with the Denver Broncos, a longer term deal at Mile High Stadium, or a more lucrative package elsewhere it is safe to say that the three-time Pro Bowler is going to boost his bank balance this summer.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine though, Thomas insisted that money isn't the deciding factor - so long as he has enough to build a case to get his grandmother out of prison.
"Money really don't make me," explained Thomas.
"Hopefully this year my mom will at least get out (of prison) and get in a halfway house and come home...My main thing is trying to get her and granny out of prison, and whatever the contract is, of course it will help," the 27-year-old continued.

A little bit of backstory is probably required here.
Aged just 11 Demaryius Thomas saw his home life turned upside down after both his mother and grandmother went handed prison sentences following a police raid of their home.
Both woman were arrested on federal drug charges. Thomas' mother was sent down for 24 years. His grandmother meanwhile had prior drug convictions and was handed a life sentence.
In the 16 years since, Thomas has risen to become one of the best WRs in the NFL and Thomas has serious plans for the impending pay check coming his way because of that.
"There is hope that his mother might see release this year, and once his new contract is signed, he intends to build a legal defense for his grandmother."
Thomas' future has largely been put to one side by the media and Broncos fans. With fellow receiving star Dez Bryant also on the hunt for a new contract, and Peyton Manning's future dominating Denver headlines, where Thomas will be playing in 2015 has taken a back seat for some.
Not for the Denver Broncos front office though, is Insider Jason La Canfora is to be believed. He reported recently that the Broncos are set to use the franchise tag on Demaryius Thomas - a one season deal that would be worth $13 million.
Should he hit free agency though and Thomas will have no shortage of options. Home town franchise the Oakland Raiders have been pinpointed by some as a possible landing spot.
