Denver Broncos fans have had to endure a tough offseason to say the least. Following a bitterly disappointing exit from the playoffs after a 24-13 defeat at home to Indianapolis, speculation has been rife that Peyton Manning will retire.
Manning has elevated the Broncos beyond doubt in his three seasons in Denver, but as yet he has failed to deliver the Vince Lombardi Trophy that general manager and Broncos legend John Elway dearly craves.
However, latest reports certainly make it sound like Manning has not given up hope yet of securing the title for Elway. Today it was revealed by NFL insider Ian Rapoport that Manning will make a decision on his future before next week's NFL Combine in Indianapolis, with Rapoport explaining that Manning's desire is to meet the Broncos top brass in the next week to make a firm decision on his future.
"Peyton Manning's decision is expected to come before the NFL Combine. In fact, Manning wants to meet with Joe Ellis and Joe Elway prior to their departure for Indianapolis to make a firm decision on his playing status," Ian Rapoport revealed on NFL Network.
"But here is where Manning is right now, it certainly does seem like he's preparing to play for the 2015 season. He wants to see where he's at physically. He's working out in Indianapolis and the Broncos knew he would start to do that."

Likely to return
Though there has been plenty of speculation about Manning's future, the good news for Broncos fans is that stories about Manning's future have been mostly positive for them. Rapoport reveals the common notion is that Manning will return, and he says that it's just a matter of time before he announces it.
"The Broncos know that the does want to meet with the team before announcing that he will return. Every at the Broncos has said that they want him back and all we need is for him to make it official next week," Rapoport added.
