Shawn Michaels asks New York Giants star to give Tony Romo a pass

When the WWE and NFL combine, the results can either be disastrous our hilarious, a recent combination of the two was arguably one of the most awkwardly comical moments ever.

We are less than a week away from valentines day so what better person to interview than the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels.

TMZ were trying to catch up with the WWE legend and what happened during their interview is perhaps one of the best improvised segments ever (you can see the whole video below this article).

Michaels' nickname of the Heartbreak Kid combined with his provocative entrance song and ring attire has earned him a place in wrestling legend as a man heavily influenced by the opposite sex.

Michaels has made several cameo appearances in the WWE over the last few months and was a part of the RAW reunion a few weeks ago.

So when he was interviewed by TMZ, rather than asking about his wrestling cameos, they decided to ask him about his worst break-ups.

During his answer, New York Giants defensive tackle Jay Bromley comes into view behind the WWE legend.

What follows is Bramley confessing his fandom for HBK and engaging him in an awkward photograph pose.

The funniest moment however comes when Michaels finds out who he is and that he plays for the Giants.

Michaels who hails from San Antonio, Texas then asked Bramley to do him a favour and give Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo a pass.

An awkwardly funny scene but one that sums up the character of one of the greatest WWE Champions ever.

The new breed

Michaels may be one of the biggest superstars in WWE history with several different records and moments to his name, but now there is a new breed in the WWE.

Fastlane is less than two weeks away and its main event will see Daniel Bryan take on Roman Reigns for the chance to headline WrestleMania with Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar is currently the WWE World Heavyweight Champion but is largely expected to lose his title to whomever he faces at WrestleMania XXXI.

The new breed of WWE superstar would certainly give Michaels a run for his money and all eyes are now on them to step up ahead of the biggest show of the year.
