Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has hailed teammate Alexis Sanchez as the best striker in the Premier League.
The Spanish midfielder, speaking exclusively to BT Sport, also believes the Chile international is this season’s standout Premier League signing.
Alexis has scored 12 Premier League goals and contributed seven assists since joining the Gunners in a £35 million deal from Barcelona last summer.
Cazorla: Alexis is PL's best striker
“For me, I think he’s the best signing in the Premier League, no?” Cazorla responded, when asked about Sanchez’s impact at Arsenal this season. “We are lucky because he plays for us. He played for Barcelona before and I played against him some times and [so I knew] he’s a good player.
“He wants to improve every day and for us [he] is very important and, for the fans, I think he is the best signing and the best striker in the Premier League.”

Cazorla’s latest comments will spark plenty of debate over who is the Premier League’s best striker.
Chelsea’s Diego Costa is currently the top scorer in England’s top flight with 17 goals to his name, while Manchester City ace Sergio Aguero has 14 so far this term.
English strikers Charlie Austin and Harry Kane - who play for QPR and Tottenham, respectively - have 13 league goals apiece.
Cazorla’s comments should also end bizarre overseas rumours that Sanchez is unhappy at Arsenal because the Spaniard has been named as the club’s Player of the Month for the last two months.
Arsenal face battle to sign Lyon stars
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Lyon’s highly-rated duo Alexandre Lacazette and Nabil Fekir - but face a battle to sign the Ligue 1 stars.
Lyon are desperate to keep hold of their prized assets, while club president Jean-Michel Aulas is only prepared to let one of them leave in the summer transfer window.
Lacazette, 23, is fast becoming one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers, having scored 21 goals already this season.
Attacking midfielder Fekir, meanwhile, has weighed in with eight goals and six assists this term.
Ramsey and Alexis injury blows
And finally, Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of winger Alexis Sanchez and midfielder Aaron Ramsey following Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has expressed regrets over selection decisions which contributed to the players’ fresh injury concerns - and feels he may have been partly culpable for their latest setbacks.
Arsenal took all three points thanks to goals from defender Laurent Koscielny and the fit-again Theo Walcott.
