Patrick Olsen finds himself on Arsenal radar

Premier League side Arsenal are interested in signing midfielder Patrick Olsen after he was released by Inter Milan last week.

The 20-year-old is a highly-rated midfielder who has been on Arsenal's radar for some time now, and they have been tracking him over the last few seasons, with some of the club's scouts monitoring him frequently.

Career so Far

The Danish international started his career with Brondby and after just making three appearances, he secured a move to Serie A after Inter Milan decided to sign him in 2013. However, he struggled to settle in Italy and failed to make a name for himself at the San Siro and was eventually loaned out to Stromsgodset last year.

Olsen made just six appearances during his loan spell before returning to Italy.

After returning to Roberto Mancini's side, Olsen was told that his contract had been cancelled, and he was officially released from the club. Since leaving Inter he has been on trial with Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, but it's Arsenal that are surprise candidates in the race to sign him.

According to reports, Arsenal are prepared to bring Olsen to London and offer him a contract in the next few weeks without even offering him a trial.

Unknown Talent

The youngster has yet to make a senior appearance for the Denmark national team, but he has featured three times for the U-21 side. Olsen is quite an unknown figure so his arrival wouldn't spark much excitement around the Emirates Stadium.

Back in 2011, Olsen was praised by UEFA and made their 'Ones to Watch' list after he dazzled during the 2011 UEFA European U-17 Football Championship.

However, four years on, he has failed to live up to the hype and expectations, but could resurrect his career with a move to north London.
