Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Harry Kane will be called up to the England squad following the youngster's remarkable form this season, saying he has “everything you're looking for in a centre forward”.
The 21-year-old, who only made his Premier League debut for Spurs last April, has scored 23 goals in 35 games to force his way into the England set up.
"Is he worth a place in the squad now? Of course he is," said Hodgson.
England will face Lithuania in a European qualifier followed by a friendly against Italy at the end of next month - a perfect opportunity for the Spurs star to impress on the international stage.
The England boss strongly believes Kane deserves his place in the squad but is still unsure whether he can make a claim to break into the starting line up.

"That's something he'll have to prove," added Hodgson. "But unless I give him a chance in the squad, he'll never get a chance to prove that anyway.”
England's ongoing striker issues
Kane is the joint top English goalscorer in the top flight alongside Charlie Austin with 13 goals leaving Hodgson no choice but to give the youngster a chance.
England have notoriously had a problem with finding an out-and-out striker who can lead the line and Kane could prove to be the solution.
“If you can be a star at a top team like Tottenham at the age of 21, then you're doing pretty well,” said the England boss.
Daniel Sturridge seemed to have cemented his place in the starting XI but with the long term injuries to the Liverpool striker, Kane has a golden opportunity to get his foot in the door.
Giving the kids a chance
Hodgson has given youngsters like Raheem Sterling, Saido Berahino and Luke Shaw chances in the past to showcase their ability and Kane is set to follow suit.
“We bought a lot of young players in during my time, we had Saido Berahino in the last squad. He certainly deserves a place in the squad as much as say Saido did,” added Hodgson.
Burnley striker Danny Ings is also in contention to receive a call up following his impressive work at the newly promoted side.
The squad will be announced March 19 giving Kane even more time to show why he should receive the call from Hodgson.
