Manchester United supporters will have been pleased to see former academy star Josh King getting on the scoresheet during Blackburn Rovers' emphatic 4-1 victory over Stoke City in the FA Cup this weekend.
The 23-year-old striker netted a stunning hat-trick during Saturday's fifth round clash at Ewood Park to book Gary Bowyer's side's place in the quarter-finals of the domestic knockout competition.
King's treble made sure that Mark Hughes's return to Lancashire was a disappointing one after helping to down the Potters, and provided reason for Red Devils fans to toast the talented youngster's achievement, particularly as the Old Trafford club still holds a special place in his heart.
In fact, according to the Rovers marksman's Twitter profile he still plays for Manchester United, despite the fact he left the club over two years ago after penning a permanent deal with the Championship outfit in January 2013.
"19 year old footballer from Norway, play for Manchester United…" reads his bio on the social media website, which to be fair to King appears to have been dormant since May 2011.
His current deal with Blackburn expires at the end of the season and after impressing over the course of the campaign will likely attract admiring glances from a number of different suitors looking to snap up an exciting prospect on a Bosman free transfer.
Louis van Gaal's problems in that department have been well-documented, with Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie both struggling for fitness and form this term, but don't expect Manchester United to go back for King in the summer - even if his online profile suggests he's holding out hope of a reunion!
The Red Devils will be looking to join King and his Blackburn Rovers team-mates in the next round of the Cup when they take on League One outfit Preston North End at Deepdale this evening.
An away win will present a possible chance for the Norwegian to face his former club, and another opportunity to impress onlookers in the lead up to the summer transfer window.
