Russell Westbrook named All-Star MVP

Published 1 Comments

We start off in the NBA, where Amar'e Stoudemire is no longer a New York Knick. Stoudemire reached an agreement on a buyout with the franchise yesterday. He will likely join a playoff contender, with the Dallas Mavericks being current favourites to land his signature. Staying the NBA, Russell Westbrook was named All-Star MVP last night. The Thunders point guard starred with 41 points as he lead the West to a close win over the East. Westbrook was just one point away from equalling Wilt Chamberlain's record. Over to the NFL now, where Chris Johnson has left the Jets. The running back is heading to free agency for a second straight year after the New York side refused to pick up the option on his contract. And finally to the NHL, where one former player has passed away. Steve Montador was a defenseman who played for the Flames and Blackhawks among others between 2001 and 2012. He was 35 years old.
