Manchester United have opened talks with Ashley Young over a new contract at Old Trafford. The 29-year-old winger has just over 12 months to run on his existing deal that is reportedly worth a mouth-watering £115,000-a-week. Louis van Gaal sees Young as an integral part of his future plans having been impressed with the Red Devils star's versatility. Young has operated in an unfamiliar wing-back position for much of the campaign, but currently finds himself out of the team after suffering a hamstring injury on New Year's Day. However, he's enjoying his recent run in the side after being marginalised under the former stewardship of David Moyes last season.
