Juventus could benefit from Radamel Falcao's misery

Radamel Falcao’s current struggles at Manchester United could see the Colombian move away from the Premier League for a new challenge in Serie A with Juventus.

The former Porto and Atletico Madrid forward has scored just four times since signing on loan from Monaco back in the summer, and was hooked after an hour as the Red Devils battled past Preston North End in the FA Cup.

Louis van Gaal has appeared unconvinced by his form and fitness in recent times, and with his time at Old Trafford souring by the game he could join the Old Lady to resurrect his career.

United pain

United are still a work in progress, and Van Gaal’s heavy tinkering has seen both Falcao and Robin Van Persie struggle to impress on many occasions.

Three serious knee injuries in recent times appear to have jaded his confidence and lessened his clinical instincts, with the striker also having completed 90 minutes on just five occasions this term.

The club have the option to make his loan move permanent at the end of the season, but are now reportedly considering the axe in order to make a move for either Gareth Bale or Edinson Cavani, both of whom are facing scrutiny of their own over at Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Madrid themselves would surely be the frontrunners for Falcao’s signature, but Juventus should consider making a move especially given the player’s desire to one day don the black and white jersey of the club.

Juventus talisman

Massimiliano Allegri has expressed his desire to strengthen his side further this summer, and could make Falcao the new spearhead of the current Scudetto holders.

Carlos Tevez’s situation at the club has grown precarious in recent times despite his impressive form, with the Argentina harbouring hopes of a return to his first flame Boca Juniors.

Alvaro Morata is another who is already being linked with a move away. Madrid only allowed him to depart the Spanish capital in the summer, but could attempt to re-sign him with Karim Benzema short on competition up front.

Falcao would bring experience and finishing prowess to the club. That United are in transition is not helping his cause and neither is the growing case to start Wayne Rooney ahead of both himself and Van Persie. Even James Wilson deserves a run in the team having enjoyed a good start to the New Year.
