Jose Mourinho has offered an excuse as to perhaps why Chelsea weren’t fully at the races during last night’s 1-1 Champions League draw with French champions Paris Saint-Germain. Speaking post-match at the Parc des Princes The Special One revealed that no less than five players were limited in training before the game, with Francesc Fabregas turning up simply to play after spending three days in bed with sickness. Eden Hazard, Willian, Oscar and goalscorer Branislav Ivanovic were the others who only trained the day before the game because the media were present. In other news the backlash from footage showing Chelsea fans singing racist chants on the Metro in Paris has been widespread, with thousands calling for the perpetrators to be punished. The club have confirmed there will be serious sanctions for any fan identified, though how easy it will be to discern faces amongst the crowd remains to be seen.
