Manchester City defender Micah Richards wants to return to the Premier League this summer with the likes of Liverpool, Everton and West Ham interested in his signature.
This has been reported by the Daily Mail, who have suggested that the 26-year-old, who is currently on loan at Italian outfit Fiorentina, will leave the Etihad on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Richards has endured a tricky time in the Serie A of late as he's failed to hold down a place in the side under the guidance of Vincenzo Montella.
However, the same report from the Mail has suggested that he now believes that he's over the injury problems that disrupted his career on English soil. It appears, then, that the versatile defender is determined to get his career back on track, but it remains to be seen as to whether the likes of Liverpool and Co. make a move for him.
However, despite preferring a move to another English club, the report has suggested that Richards would be open to joining Inter Milan. It appears that the City flop was close to joining the Italian outfit last summer, but a move collapsed on transfer deadline day.
Inter, though, aren't the only European giant reportedly interested in the defender, as the Mail have also suggested that German outfit Borussia Dortmund could make a move for his services in the next transfer window.
It appears, though, that the trio of Liverpool, West Ham and Everton are in the driving seat to land him, bit it remains to be seen as to which club he'd rather join.
There's no doubt about it, on his day, Richards is an exceptional footballer, but he's failed to really prove his credentials for a number of years now.
A move to Liverpool would no doubt excite Richards as he would look to get back to his best at a top club, but is he really any better than Glen Johnson?
In truth, Richards and Johnson are fairly similar, so Brendan Rodgers would have a decision to make. The Reds may be best staying out of this race. Liverpool would probably do better continuing their pursuit of James Milner who has also been linked with a move to Merseyside.
Perhaps, then, a move to either of Everton or West Ham would suit the towering defender.
