Bad News Barrett's feud with Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has taken another turn as the wrestler has called him out during a recent interview.
Barrett called into the Elvin Duran and the Morning Show’s The Josh Podcast and spoke about his war of words with the England captain on Twitter.
The English wrestler went on to deliver some bad news to Rooney as he put out an ultimatum for the star footballer.
Barrett said: “The bad news would be that unless Wayne Rooney leads England to winning the World Cup I’m going to smash him with a bull hammer as soon as I see him.”
The current Intercontinental Champion defends his title against Dean Ambrose this Sunday at WWE's new Fast Lane Pay-Per-View, but is keen to get Rooney involved in some action the next time the WWE brings their live events to the UK.

The IC champ said: “To be honest with you, 99% of the country really hates Manchester United. It’s who Wayne Rooney plays for. They’ve got a large fan base. You either love them or you hate them, they’re like the New York Yankees.
“If we go to Manchester there’s a good chance that I might be the guy to get booed but if we go pretty much any where else they’ll be cheering me and booing him. It’s going to be an interesting one, hopefully we can get him along and do something with him.”
All of this comes in the wake of Rooney’s dive against Preston, where Barrett is from, in the FA Cup. He took to Twitter to call him out which led to a series of tweets going back and forth between the pair, with Preston striker Kevin Davies getting in involved, as well as WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin.
It is unlikely that a showcase match like that would ever take place, especially with Barrett being embroiled in a feud with Ambrose at the moment that looks set to see the pair through to WrestleMania XXXI at the end of next month.
You can listen to Barrett’s full podcast interview where he talks about a number of other topics including WWEs Fast Lane PPV, Vince McMahon’s recent Muscle and Fitness magazine cover, and the possibility of the British Bulldog being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame here.
