Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie has fuelled speculation he could leave the Eredivisie this summer after confirming his intention to take on a new challenge abroad in the future.
The highly-rated Holland international has been heavily linked with a move away from De Kuip in the coming months after attracting admiring glances from a host of top European suitors.
Several sides in the Premier League are believed to be keeping tabs on the 23-year-old, with Manchester United and Southampton understood to be among his growing list of suitors.
Both Louis van Gaal and Ronald Koeman have worked with Clasie before. The Red Devils coach named the Dutchman in his Netherlands squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil last summer.
Meanwhile, the Saints boss knows the player well from his previous spell in charge of Feyenoord, the club where he managed prior to moving from Rotterdam to St Mary's upon the expiry of his contract at the end of last season.

According to the Daily Mirror last month, Koeman is eyeing Clasie as a possible replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin, who looks more and more likely to leave the south coast when the transfer window reopens.
However, Southampton could well face competition for his signature from Manchester United, who were reportedly monitoring the player's situation even before Van Gaal was appointed last summer.
The 63-year-old's arrival at Old Trafford - as well as the presence of international team-mates Robin van Persie and Daley Blind - could prove to be decisive when Clasie makes an eventual decision on his next destination.
Either way, it's clear that Clasie sees his future away from Feyenoord after comments made in the build-up to his side's Europa League clash against AS Roma on Thursday night.
"For the moment I'm concentrating on Feyenoord," he was quoted saying by Italian publication Corriere dello Sport. "I want to go as far as possible in both the league and in the Europa League.
“In the future, however, my goal is to play in foreign leagues in order to grow as a player.”
The two sides drew 1-1 in the first leg of their last-32 encounter at Stadio Olimpico, thanks to goals from two former Premier League stars in Gervinho and Colin Kazim-Richards.
