Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina has revealed that he said 'yes immediately' when he was contacted by Arsenal over a potential move to the club after the World Cup.
As reported by Goal.com, the Gunners shot-stopper has also insisted that he looks up to some of his rival goalkeepers...because he's smaller than them.
"At first, you laugh, because it's true!" he told L'Equipe. "When I'm in the tunnel and I see the opposing team's goalkeeper... I have to look up. In England, they're all two heads taller than me!
"They're six feet three or even taller. Courtois, De Gea, Hart, you can laugh but it puts a bit of pressure on you. Even Hugo Lloris looks small and he is around six foot one? I'm the smallest at six foot!"
As well as admitting that it was a dream come true to join Arsenal, the 'keeper has insisted that he has great respect for the duo of Wojciech Szczesny and Damian Martinez, who are battling it out with him for the No.1 position at the club.
He continued by saying: "I have great respect for the other two goalkeepers [Szczesny and Damian Martinez]. Everyone has a chance, but I had my opportunity and you have to take advantage.
"When the coach contacted me after the World Cup, I said yes immediately. Playing in England was a dream. In Colombia, on television, we saw the Spanish and English leagues because of Asprilla's games at Newcastle and Juan Pablo [Angel] at Aston Villa. I preferred the English football passion."
Place is deserved
Ospina, of course, has replaced Szczesny between the sticks earlier on in the campaign, but his place in the side is certainly deserved.
There's no doubt about it, the Colombian, who impressed in this past summer's World Cup, hasn't looked out of place at the Emirates, and should now look to hold down his place in the side for the remainder of the campaign. He's good enough to prove his credentials in north London.
