Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has been labelled the best right-back in the Premier League by none other than Manchester United legend Gary Neville.
The former Red Devils captain singled out the Serbia international as the standout full-back that operates on the right flank in England's top-flight division following a number of inspiring performances for Jose Mourinho's side this season.
Neville was asked for his opinion on the number one candidate in that specialist position during a live Q&A session on Twitter, and after praising Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta - who he believed to be the best over the previous two seasons - it was Ivanovic that got the nod ahead of the Argentine.
The Sky Sports pundit's praise for the Stamford Bridge star comes fresh off the back of Ivanovic's goalscoring exploits in each of the Blues past two games.
He netted the opening goal in Saturday's surprise 1-1 draw with Burnley in west London, and also broke the deadlock at Parc des Princes in midweek when Mourinho's men recorded the same scoreline in their Champions League last 16 first leg encounter with Paris Saint-Germain.
Neville's judgement is not a knee-jerk reaction to the 31-year-old's contribution in recent games, but rather a reflection of the consistent level Ivanovic has managed to maintain for the duration of 2014/15.
With four league goals to his name this term the versatile stopper has played a vital role in Chelsea's climb to the top of the Premier League table. He also found the net against Liverpool in the Capital One Cup semi-final to help book the Blues' place in next weekend's Wembley final showdown with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Neville was asked a series of other interesting questions during his short stint in control of Breathe Sport's social media channel, claiming Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand were the best central defenders he played with, whilst naming Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs as the hardest wingers he faced - and that was just in training for Manchester United!
