WWE's popularity rests on their ability to build their wrestlers up as heroes in the ring but one of the organization's rising stars today proved himself to be a knight in shining armor away from the packed out arenas.
Solomon Crowe, who actually recently debuted as a heel on WWE NXT, was the man of the moment - coming to the rescue of a female driver involved in a car wreck in Orlando Florida.
The wrestler took to social media to reveal the full extent of the dramatic incident in which he pulled her from her overturned vehicle - at the same time proving that his mysterious in-ring character doesn't transfer to the outside world.
Crowe was returning from practice at the NXT performance Center in the Florida city and - having heard the crash occur - made his way to the scene with a fellow passer by. Finding a woman in an overturned white SUV they both helped her out, aware of the potential danger.
An image of the wreck can be seen below:
According to reports the SUV had overturned after mounting a curb and hitting a tree.
The hero speaks
Crowe, who has vast experience in the Indie wrestling scene prior to his NXT debut on February 18th this year, spoke to WWE.com about his heroic act.
"I didn't even think," the wrestler explained.
"When I saw it, I was wearing sandals, and I just took off in a full sprint toward the car. I knew especially if a car's upside down like that, it can catch fire very easily, and whoever was in it, we wanted to get them out."
The NXT man didn't want to big himself too much though.
"I would hope someone would do the same for me...That's how I think about it."
Indeed, after waiting with the driver until paramedics and police arrived to administer treatment, Crowe left the scene without much of a fuss. It was only after an onlooker tweeted the above photo that the wrestler's involvement became known.
