Dez Bryant is currently in the process of trying to work out a long-term deal with the Dallas Cowboys as free agency approaches.
There are numerous obstacles stopping Bryant and the Cowboys from coming together round a table and hashing out the perfect contract for both sides.
Most of the reasons why Dallas and Bryant can't come to a compromise are because Dez and the Cowboys have a different figure in mind when it comes down to the star receiver's new salary. But there is also another major issue that is clouding the negotiating process, according to Terez Owens.
Is there a video?
According to the website, the Cowboys have been holding off giving Bryant a huge new deal because of fears that a Ray Rice-style video of Dez will be released today.
It's alleged that this video is supposed to incriminate Bryant one way or another, with the video described as a 'game-changer' by people close to the situation. It's worth noting that these claims have not been confirmed yet in any way.
"The incriminating video of Dallas Cowboys superstar receiver Dez Bryant doing something supposedly Ray Rice worthy is being released today or tomorrow. According to our source, the Cowboys haven’t done a huge deal with Dez because of concern over the video," Terez Owens reported.
The reports of an alleged incriminating video are not confirmed and this could still be a huge hoax. But one thing should be added, even the more established and trusted NBC are talking about the possibility of the video, especially after the comments that were made by well respected Pro Football Talk.com founder Mike Florio last week.
“It’s one of the best-kept secrets in the media. A story that all of the major insiders know about, known about it for months, involving a video tape," Florio explained on 105.3 The Fan last week.
"And the Cowboys are aware of it. Because of that and possible other reasons the Cowboys have been very reluctant to commit major money to him. I don't know that the video does exist – it relates to off-field concerns – that’s just the chatter. That there's video, and the Cowboys are afraid it will come out and have a Ray Rice-like type of an impact.”
