Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk has always been one of those frustrating players capable of the sublime and the ridiculous in equal measure, but he took that to a new extreme in a Europa League tie with PSV Eindhoven on Thursday night.

Hulk scored with a fantastic drive from 25 yards early in the second half to kill a hard-fought tie off completely, but also managed to produce arguably the worst shot you will see all season long in the very same match.

The Brazilian powerhouse went for another of his trademark netbusters from just inside the penalty area, but only succeeded in smashing the ball out for a throw in on the opposite side of the pitch.

This strike will take some explaining

Hulk's frankly ridiculous strike will be the most memorable moment from a productive European night for Zenit, whether he likes it or not.

Quite how a player with his ability can produce an effort that would be laughed off any pitch on the planet is anyone's guess, although in many ways that's one of the brilliant things about football, always expect the unexpected.

Expect the unexpected

Hulk has scored 13 times this season and delivered the goods in successive matches over two legs against PSV, which proves he has a killer instinct in the final third.

That doesn't stop him joining a very special YouTube highlight reel though, which also features some infamously horrific strikes from distance.

Manchester United misfit Nani is already in that hall-of-shame, but Hulk more than deserves his spot that is for sure.

Is Hulk's dreadful effort the worst you've seen this season? If you can find a strike that's more pathetic we'd definitely like to see it!
