Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has revealed that he's flattered to be mentioned in connection with a big-money move to Manchester United, doing a terrible job of stopping rumours that's he's off to Old Trafford this summer.
Marquinhos has emerged as the centre-back most strongly linked with United over the last six weeks, with former favourite of the gossip columns Mats Hummels seeing his star power fade a touch as Borussia Dortmund continue to rebuild.
The Brazilian centre-back has enormous raw potential and quite staggering cost PSG £30m in a deal which took him from Roma to the Parc des Princes in 2013, at the age of 19. United know one that PSG's bright young thing won't come cheap, but this transfer story appears to have some weight.
Quotes keep his options open
Marquinhos was asked about his long-term future and United interest by L'Equipe this weekend, with a response keeping all options very much out in the open.
The Selecao starlet said: "I'm calm, concentrated. I leave all this to my agent. Before, PSG refused to begin negotiations. They have shut the door. I see this as something to take confidence from.

PSG may well cash in
"It proves PSG count on me but, to be honest, it makes me happy to see Manchester United are interested in me. It's validating."
The youngster's stance is perfectly understandable, particularly when you consider that he's very unlikely to start when PSG have their entire first-team squad fit and available.
Countrymen Thiago Silva and David Luiz are Laurent Blanc's first-choice central defensive pairing, possessing a wealth of experience at the very highest level.
United should seriously consider summer bid
The 20-year-old has still played 28 times in all competitions this season though, including a credible display in last week's Champions League clash with Chelsea.
Surely United scouts will be taking a closer look at Marquinhos if he features in the second leg at Stamford Bridge, because its clear they need an injection of quality and presence at centre-back.
Marquinhos may be young but has incredible raw potential, which has to put him very high on Louis van Gaal's list of summer transfer targets.
