Philippe Coutinho has been in majestic form all season for Liverpool; never so evident as when he curled a beautiful late winner against Manchester City from range this weekend.

The Brazilian star has been bombarded with praise since the goal, perhaps the highest of all being one fan uploading the goal to Porn Hub, labelling it as ‘pure filth’.

That curling wonder-strike earned Liverpool all three points and moved them into fifth place, within touching distance of rivals Manchester United.

With only seven points between third and seventh, every team hoping for Champions League qualification will need their top players to show up week in, week out; and Coutinho is certainly doing that for Brendan Rodgers side of late.

The Reds have performed noticeably better all season with Coutinho in the side, with a 74 percent win rate as apposed to 46 percent without him.

Is Coutinho perhaps a contender for Premier League player of the year honours?

Should Liverpool manage to finish in the coveted top four again this season then he should really be in contention.
