It’s becoming more and more common in modern football; the new breed of player with an extraordinary talent for diving.

There have been some strong efforts over the years, but we think we’ve found a fresh candidate for the best dive in the history of the sport.

Stage set

The stage was set as Metalurg Donetsk hosted Karpaty Lviv in the Ukrainian Premier League; and Oleksandr Noyok saw his chance to shine as an opponent's challenge sent him spiralling into what seemed like the deepest agony imaginable.

The bravery it must have taken to get up after that one…or perhaps it was just the fact the referee was having none of it?

Diving form

I’m not sure if these players are spending time in training or at home perfecting their diving form, but I do wonder how long it will be until we see a reverse double somersault in action; Tom Daley would be proud.
