Arsenal fans hoping to see Jack Wilshere make a triumphant return to the first-team fold against Manchester United will have a bitter taste in their mouths this morning, as it was revealed that he won’t be available. The Evening Standard’s James Olley tweeted earlier that the injury-prone midfielder is still recovering from the lengthy injury that continues to plague him, and the FA Cup clash against the Gunners’ fiercest rivals won’t be the stage for his comeback. That’s bad news indeed when it’s considered how important he has the potential to be, and the fact that the cup in question is the last realistic chance Arsenal have at silverware this year. In other club news former Gunners youngster Thomas Eisfeld has shed light on Wenger’s training ground habits, claiming that the Frenchman only intervenes if someone attempts to play a long-ball. Our guess is that he looks down on United’s style of play then.
