Former TNA wrestler Samoa Joe has been courting a serious amount of interest since his decision to leave Impact Wrestling last month.
The 35-year-old wrestler is currently contracted to appear in Ring of Honor for a month after leaving TNA, but reports in the last few weeks have revealed that he also has a deal on the table to appear in the WWE.
This information was reported by Pro Wrestling Observer’s wrestling expert Dave Meltzer last week, and this week he has added to those comments with even more promising news for WWE fans wanting to see Samoa Joe in a WWE ring.
Samoa Joe set for WWE?
Furthermore, not only does Meltzer confirm WWE’s interest in Joe, but he suggests as well that the powerful wrestler will accept WWE’s deal and will appear for the wrestling company this spring after his deal with Ring of Honor ends.
“Samoa Joe is WWE bound, reports Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. It is expected that there will be something between Joe and WWE this spring, with his role possibly involving NXT. At the very least, Joe is attempting to get in with WWE, after clearing his indie dates from April 23rd onwards. Coincidentally, the NXT tapings will be taking place on April 23,” whatculture.com reported.
“There’s going to be something with WWE,” Dave Meltzer explained, whatculture.com reported. “He is in theory WWE bound in some form, or at least attempting to be WWE bound.”
Good news for WWE fans?
These comments seem to finally clear up whether or not Samoa Joe will be joining WWE after months of speculation. First Joe left TNA, and then rumors surfaced about WWE’s interest in the star before Triple H confirmed that he would love to work with the veteran wrestler. And now it’s almost certain that Joe will be joining the biggest and best in pro-wrestling this spring.
