WWE: Divas tag match set for WrestleMania 31

AJ Lee made her triumphant return to WWE on Monday Night Raw this week, as she saved her old adversary Paige from an attack by The Bella Twins.

It seems this was no accident, according to reports by NoDQ,  as this year's WrestleMania divas match will see Brie and Nikki Bella take on Paige and AJ Lee in tag team action.

It makes sense that the Divas Championship isn't on the line, after it was only defended at Fastlane and then again Monday night on Raw and a triple threat match would ruin the new alliance that seems to have been formed between Paige and AJ.

WrestleMania doesn't have a good history when it comes to the divas, Wrestlemania 29 didn't hold a divas match because the matches ran over and Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow and The Bellas up against Tuns of Funk and The Funkadactyls was cut from the show at the last minute.

WrestleMania 30 gave the divas the hardest spot on the show, if not the hardest ever spot in Mania history, when Vickie Guerrero's Divas Invitational match was forced to follow The Undertaker's defeat to Brock Lesnar.

Without the title being defended, much like it wasn't at this year's Royal Rumble, it seems that there isn't a lot riding on this match for the four participants, but this could finally see Brie turn on her sister and create another Bella feud.

The angle has become old now, WWE didn't capitalise on the heat between the two sisters a few months ago and now AJ has returned, the Bellas wont be the headline of the Divas Division.

The hash-tag #GiveDivasAChance has been the main news on Twitter over the past week, and after Vince McMahon tweeted to say that the WWE Universe should "keep watching," it will come as a form of disappointment to see that this is the match that WWE have decided on for the biggest event of the year.

With NXT talent like Sasha Banks and Charlotte looking like they are ready to be called up to the main roster, WWE could have utilized them and had Natalya and Rosa up against Banks and Charlotte, whilst the Divas Championship was also defended in one form or another.

As well as this, fans have had their eye on Twitter lately, after the Tweets that AJ sent to Stephanie last week, to see if there was some form of follow up between the two.

It was reported that WWE didn't have anything to do with AJ sending the Tweets and as far as they are concerned, the divas storyline heading into WrestleMania doesn't include Stephanie McMahon. But they were hopeful of making the Tweets a part of the storyline that they do have for AJ, Paige and the Bella Twins over the next few weeks heading up to WrestleMania.

WrestleMania 22 nine years ago had two divas matches, so there is no reason why Wrestlemania 31 can't do the same and officially #GiveDivasAChance.

So what do you think WWE fans? Should Divas be given more of a chance at WrestleMania XXXI on March 29? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
