Luis Suarez to make Liverpool return for charity match

Liverpool foundation today confirmed the All-Star charity match fans have been waiting for.

As was rumoured in recent news, some of world football’s biggest names will come together at Anfield on March 29, with a plethora of ex-Liverpool legends involved.

Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher have been named the two captains, and will select their teams themselves from the pool of talent available, the full list of which has not been announced yet.

The managers of each side are also yet to be confirmed whilst we know that Liverpool’s current back room staff will be available to help out where needed.

Confirmed stars taking part in the game include Luis Suarez, Pepe Reina, Dirk Kuyt, Xabi Alonso, Thierry Henry, John Terry and Didier Drogba.

It had initially been thought that Suarez would be unavailable but the striker returns to Anfield following his summer transfer to Barcelona.

While the game falls over the international break, Liverpool players without commitments to their respective countries will also play a part as well as top talent from the youth academy.

Tickets for will go on sale to LFC season ticket holders on March 5, before general sale begins six days later. They will be priced at £20 for adults, £5 for juniors and £15 for over 65s.

Liverpool FC Foundation's community programmes will benefit from the proceeds of the event.
