The Royal Rumble pay-per-view back in January caused plenty of controversy for a number of different reasons, with superstar wrestler Roman Reigns taking the brunt of a lot of fan frustration.
Daniel Bryan fans in the arena during the pay-per-view angrily voiced their disapproval at the controversial decision by WWE to hand Bryan an early exit from the Rumble, while Roman Reigns' eventual win was also roundly booed by fans in the arena.
However, since then fans in the arenas around the country have begun to warm to Roman Reigns again and the negativity towards the rising star has dampened somewhat.
This is great news for the WWE and their big push for Roman Reigns, and in the lead up to WrestleMania 31 later this month, there are plenty of people in powerful places that believe Reigns will become the babyface of Mania this year, with one of the key reasons for Reigns' popularity boost being the ongoing uncertain future of his Mania opponent, Brock Lesnar.
"There's a feeling among some that Roman Reigns may end up being the big babyface at WrestleMania 31 for his WWE World Heavyweight Title Match against Brock Lesnar. The reactions for Reigns since the Royal Rumble have gotten better but that could change with the mostly "smart crowd" made up of internet fans at WrestleMania," Pro Wrestling Observer reports, according to Wrestlinginc.com.
"We've noted how WrestleMania 31 could be Lesnar's last match if chooses to return to UFC. With the WrestleMania crowd made up of many "smart" fans, they will be aware that Lesnar is on his way out and this could cause them to cheer Reigns."
