Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs has broken his silence regarding the rumours of an alleged rift with Louis van Gaal, claiming recent speculation that their relationship has diminished is completely inaccurate.
Instead the Welshman heaped praise on the Dutch coach for the positive impression he's made on him both personally and professionally at Old Trafford, and says he's delighted to have been given the opportunity to work under the 63-year-old.
It was after Ashley Young's match-winning goal against Newcastle United on Wednesday evening that rumours started to fly that Giggs and Van Gaal had fallen out, after the Red Devils legend was captured on camera seemingly refusing to celebrate with the former Netherlands boss.

However, Van Gaal was quick to play down allegations the day after the 1-0 win at St James' Park, and now Giggs has affirmed the pair continue to get along well.
"It's coming to that part of the season where the media will look at any little thing to make it more exciting and more interesting," Giggs told BBC Sport. "Me and Louis have a great working relationship.

"He's given me a massive opportunity and I'm taking it. I'm working as hard as I can and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I've really enjoyed working under him and learning something new every day. I'm learning under a great manager."
After a brief interim spell in charge of Manchester United last season following the departure of David Moyes, the perception is that Giggs is being groomed for an eventual takeover of the managerial hot-seat, but for now the club legend is just focusing on his role as Van Gaal's No.2 and tapping into as much of his experience as he can.
"He's won everything and to work under someone like Louis is a great experience for me," he added. "He's been brilliant with me and given me a lot of responsibility.
"Each day I learn something different and I love working with the players. I've been given a great opportunity to be assistant of a club that I've spent my whole career at."
