Real Madrid suffered another La Liga setback at the weekend when they lost to Athletic Bilbao - and it seems that some fans have had enough.
Aritz Adruiz's header was enough to separate the sides at San Mames and some Madrid fans believe the front three of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo - 'the BBC' as they have been dubbed - should be dropped from the starting eleven.
In a poll conducted by Spanish newspaper AS, 46.1 percent of readers think Bale should be dropped, a surprising 32.2 percent believe Cristiano Ronaldo should only be on the bench and Benezma needs a break according to 21.7 percent of fans.
Out of the 2,450 people asked in the survey, 92.1 percent also thought manager Carlo Ancelotti should revert back to a 4-4-2 formation, as too much emphasis is being placed around the front three.
Should Ancelotti bow to the fan demands, it is likely Bale will be the one to make way. Despite a third of the poll believing Ronaldo should be dropped, it is highly unlikely Ancelotti will cast aside a player who has won the previous two Ballon d'Ors and boasts 30 league goals for the season.
It is not the first time Bale has received criticism from fans since his record breaking move from Tottenham in September 2013. Many Spanish pundits believe he receives harsh treatment from fans when the team's performances are below the expected standard.
Despite the criticism, the Welshman almost scored with an audacious 45-yard strike during the game which hit the post.
Defeat for Madrid on Saturday coupled with Barcelona's 6-1 thrashing of Rayo Vallecano the following day leaves Madrid one point behind their rivals in the table. It adds even more emphasis on the final El Clasico of the season which takes place at the Camp Nou on March 22.
