David de Gea's prospective transfer to Real Madrid is a "no brainer" according to Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, who sees the Manchester United goalkeeper as the natural successor to Iker Casillas.
The former Liverpool defender took to social media last night during the Champions League last 16 second leg clash between Los Blancos and Schalke to deliver his verdict that it's only a matter of time before the Spain international returns to La Liga to take the place of the veteran custodian between the sticks at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Carragher's comments came after another shaky performance from the 33-year-old stopper, who was accountable for three of the Bundesliga outfit's four goals they scored on their way to a memorable victory on Tuesday evening.

De Gea is the man that's been most frequently tipped for the job, with Costa Rica international Keylor Navas seemingly not up to the task long-term either. It's been suggested that the move could be completed as soon as the summer, with Louis van Gaal struggling to convince his £75,000-a-week star to commit his future to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were knocked out of the FA Cup by Arsenal on Monday night, and with it went their only remaining chances of winning any silverware this season. The team has under-performed in the Premier League and is locked in a battle to qualify for the Champions League via a top four finish.
De Gea has been one of very few positives to come from Van Gaal's maiden campaign at the Theatre of Dreams, producing a number of match-winning performances over the course of 2014/15 so far.
The January arrival of Victor Valdes - who signed an 18-month deal with Manchester United - was previously mooted as an indication that the club is already preparing for life after De Gea as Real Madrid get ready to make their move.
