Two shock retirements in the NFL

Published Add your comment

The 2015 NFL season began with a bang yesterday with a flurry of monster trades and free agent deals. The Saints traded Jimmy Graham and a fourth round pick to the Seahawks, with Max Unger and a first round pick going the other way. Elsewhere, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly decided to trade away quarterback Nick Foles and several late round picks to the Rams for quarterback Sam Bradford and two conditional picks. Free agency wise, cornerback Darrelle Revis is returning home to the Jets on a five-year, $70 million deal with $39m of that guaranteed. Fellow corner Byron Maxwell is joining the Eagles on a six-year $60 million deal, while the Lions have replaced Ndamukong Suh by trading several draft picks for Haloti Ngata. And finally, two shock retirements have capped off the crazy start to the NFL season, with former Titans quarterback Jake Locker calling time on his career yesterday, while linebacker Jason Worilds quit the NFL today at the young age of 27.
