There’s not many things that can shatter Mario Balotelli’s ice cool facade. The Italian bad boy has found himself under the media spotlight for a number of things over the years, but more often than not he does them on his own terms.
Manchester derbies, no problem. Scoring in World Cups, not an issue either. Put a dog in a confined space with him and he loses his mind.
Balotelli vs the pooch
That’s right, Balotelli and a Labrador in a boxing gym appears to be the perfect recipe to have the Liverpool forward running frightened. The clip, which we feel might just be a contender for the funniest thing you will see today, has ran rampant on Twitter, after being posted by the 24-year-old.

In the video he’s seen with two of his friends, thought to be professional kick-boxers, but rather than act macho in such company Balotelli made sure the one canine that was present couldn’t get anywhere near him. With moves like that it’s a wonder he hasn’t managed to evade centre-backs with more success this season, and Brendan Rodgers might well be asking the striker the same question.
Struggles at Liverpool
Though none of his infamous antics have been on show since his move to Anfield this summer, the ex-Manchester City man has flattered to deceive since his £16 million arrival, and questions are constantly being asked over his suitability to Rodgers’ plans.

In the immediate aftermath of Luis Suarez’s 31-goal season last campaign it was always going to be an arduous task for a striker to come in and impress, but even so Balotelli’s attempt has been frankly poor.
Changes to be made?
With just the one solitary goal in the Premier League this season it’s fair to say that his debut term on Merseyside is going to be pegged down as a failure, and unless he can provide Rodgers with reason to believe that things are going to change, he may well become deadwood quickly.
Liverpool’s aspirations of playing in the Champions League and competing for the title can’t sustain a player who isn’t of the required standard, and at the moment, as incredible as it is to claim, Balotelli just doesn’t look good enough.
