WWE: Brock Lesnar and McMahon won't budge in negotiations

Published 12 Comments

Brock Lesnar's future in the WWE is still firmly up in the air after weeks and weeks of speculation, with reports today further confirming that the WWE Heavyweight Champion is nowhere near signing a new deal.

This is definitely worrying news for WWE fans who would love to see the wrestling company give Brock Lesnar a new contract.

WWE's biggest event of the year is only just over two weeks away, leaving fans confused about WWE's plans for the future. Lesnar's current deal runs out after WrestleMania 31, which takes place in Santa Clara, California on March 29.

Furthermore, reports today from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reveal that both McMahon and Lesnar will not budge on contract negotiations, with any deal struck likely to be agreed at the last minute and maybe even after Lesnar's deal runs out.

"Regarding the contract issues that came up between Vince McMahon and WWE World Heavyweight Champion two weeks ago at RAW, nothing has changed. Lesnar was at this week's RAW and apparently they were still unable to resolve the issues," NoDQ reported.

"The situation is described as one where neither Lesnar or McMahon wants to budge from their current position on Lesnar's next deal with the company."

The longer this stalemate lasts the worse things will get for Brock Lesnar fans. It's highly unlikely that Vince McMahon will let Lesnar "unify the UFC and WWE belts," as Brock's advocate Paul Heyman put it on Raw this week. And with UFC President Dana White claiming that Brock will contact him when his contract runs out, WWE needs to act now before Lesnar's becomes a free agent.

"To finalize the deal, one of them or possibly both of them, will likely have to budge on the terms they're sticking to for now. Both Vince and Brock are aware of this and there is said to be no pressure on Lesnar to be the first one to budge right now."
