Roman Reigns will compete in the biggest match of his career at the end of this month when he takes on WWE Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania on March 29.
The 29-year-old superstar wrestler is expected to become the face of the WWE in the next few months as the wrestling company gives Reigns a huge push.
WWE have always been on the money business wise, and in an exclusive interview with the UK's The Sun newspaper, Roman Reigns gave an exclusive interview and made some shockingly candid statements in an attempt to build-up Mania for the WWE's UK fans.
"This is my ship now, I’m the captain here," Reigns told The Sun.
Roman Reigns is forever compared to The Rock, and for good reason. The former WWE champion and now Hollywood star is Reigns' cousin, with Roman often suffering from comparisons between the two.
In an exclusive interview with GiveMeSport last month, Ric Flair explained that one of the reasons WWE fans have failed to get behind Reigns recently is because they want him to sound like The Rock.
Reigns understands this thought process but he doesn't feel that his family history in WWE is a burden, and he added that he enjoys being able to "walk in their footsteps."
“Everybody has a story about my family, it seems. It is really neat to get all the perspective from everybody over the years," Reigns added.
“For me to live this life that so many of my family members have already lived and experienced, it is a really neat process. Every town I go to I feel like I’m walking in their footsteps.
“The ironic thing is this is my ship now, I’m the captain here.”
