WWE: Potential post-WrestleMania feuds for Brock Lesnar

Published 22 Comments

All eyes will be on Brock Lesnar on March 29 as he defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the winner of the 2015 Royal Rumble match, Roman Reigns.

But the focus won’t be on Lesnar simply for the match against Reigns, but because his current WWE status is still unknown. He walked out of Monday Night Raw a few weeks ago with rumours suggesting he is at odds with Vince McMahon surrounding a new contract.

Regardless of whether Lesnar is a part-timer or not, it’s no secret than the man is a box office heat and sells tickets, so the WWE and Vince need to try and do what they can to stop the likes of Bellator and UFC snapping him up.

I believe that if Lesnar stays, then he should retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship but even if that isn’t the case and he does decide to stick around, but not as champion, there are still some great feuds out there for Lesnar and potentially Paul Heyman to be involved in.

Here are the four superstars I think would make great rivals for Brock Lesnar, should he stay with the WWE.

Bray Wyatt has already been involved in some high-profile feuds in the WWE since his move up from NXT, from Kane to Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Dean Ambrose and now The Undertaker; Wyatt has already targeted some of the biggest names in the company but right now the biggest name is the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar.

Wyatt has always been thought of someone who can be a main event star who doesn’t need the championship to go over, and if Lesnar isn’t the champion then this feud will still be a huge one for Bray Wyatt as Lesnar is someone who would probably put Wyatt over after a potential victory over The Undertaker, as it puts both of The Undertaker’s WrestleMania conquerors inside of the same ring.

Bray Wyatt is the future of the WWE whilst Brock Lesnar has had a dominating past and is still dominating to this day, their styles would be interesting to see inside of the ring and with Paul Heyman involved in the picture, Lesnar probably wouldn’t need to be around to make this feud a success.

This is something the fans have called on for years and years, the only time we have seen these two men go at it was when Lesnar was dominating on SmackDown and Randy Orton was a rookie on his way up.

Since then, both have come a long way.

Brock Lesnar has gone on to achieve great things away from the WWE whilst Randy Orton grew to become one of the greatest heels of all time, from The Legend Killer to the Viper to The Apex Predator, a clash between the two would definitely sell seats regardless of who the face and heel is in this feud.

Much like every Lesnar feud, he wouldn't even need to be there in person if Paul Heyman is still by his side as Heyman and Orton could be very entertaining on the microphone. Lesnar has probably never faced anyone as sneaky as Randy Orton, and their gimmicks would work well when placed together in a feud.

This is a feud where Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman must portray faces if Rusev defeats John Cena at WrestleMania and remains unbeaten. Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman probably won’t play the roles of patriotic Americans in this feud like Rusev’s previous victims, but this feud will probably be more of a brute vs. beast situation where two dominating men are placed inside the ring to see who can defeat the other.

The key individual in this feud would be Lana, as she already does and will hopefully continue to hype up Rusev so well that he remains a top star in the company and has a bright future ahead of him. Perhaps a win over Brock Lesnar would be the final big jump Rusev needs to propel himself into World Title contention.

Sheamus has already shared his desire to get Brock Lesnar inside of a ring and with his imminent return, having Sheamus return to the main event picture but away from the title could mean a potential feud with Brock Lesnar.

They are both big guys with impressive work-rates and their styles would work very well in the ring considering Sheamus is a safe worker and Brock Lesnar has a destructive in-ring style. That would look great from the outside as a fan.
